The clocks have turned back and the nights are measurably darker and chillier – the perfect season to find a nook and get cosy with a blanket and a good book!
Astrud has been a Unibox Ambassador for a over a year and had just received her October Unibox when we caught up with her.
What subject are you studying and what year are you in?
I’m in my third year of studying Law.
What made you choose your course?
I chose Law because I never really had a favourite subject at school – it seemed to combine everything I liked about subjects such as English and History, as well as having the potential to lead to a career.
What do you think is most important: luck or hard-graft?
Definitely hard-graft! I don’t believe in luck, it’s all about knowing what your strengths are and working hard to get to your goals.
We all know wellbeing and self-care is important. What do you do when you feel in need of a little bit of TLC (tender loving care)?
If I need some time off, I like to make sure I’m doing something ‘productive’ so I don’t feel guilty about wasting time – I hate just sitting around! Sometimes I’ll put on a face mask or paint my nails, or other times I’ll make some fancy food with my housemate and settle down to watch Bake Off together.
Give us your best ‘student’ tip.
Keep organised and plan out your days to make the most of your time. You don’t have to give up your social life or extra-curriculars for good grades, you just need to manage your time. I make to-do lists every day so whenever I find myself sitting doing nothing, I can do the next thing on the list.
Tell us a secret.
I once managed to burn all of the cheese off my cheese on toast by grilling it for too long… tragic!
Tell us what you like most about The Unibox.
One of the best things about The Unibox is discovering new brands that I might not have seen in the supermarket before. I’ve been able to try so many tasty snacks and then known what to look out for when I’m shopping!
What was your favourite item in the last Unibox you received and why?
My favourite item in the last Unibox was definitely the pumpkin mug – I love a good mug, and this one even has a little lid to stop my tea going cold when I inevitably forget to drink it.
How do you relax before you go to bed/sleep? Do you have any sleep/relaxation rituals?
I always sleep better if my bedroom is tidy! Having a quick sort and clean before sleeping makes the room feel less stuffy, as well as relaxing me because I don’t have to stress about cleaning it in the morning.
Thanks for your time Astrud – enjoy the rest of this term and have a great Christmas break!
