Top 10 Self-care Podcasts to discover today!

Self-care while you multi-task!

Here at Unibox, we are huge podcast fans. We listen during our commutes, while we cook and clean, and sometimes when we’re just flopped on the couch. Whether, like us, you already subscribe to a hundred shows or you’re relatively new to podcasts, there’s always something awesome to discover. Here are 10 podcasts we love that will help get you into the self-love mindset:

  • 10% Happier – American TV newsman Dan Harris had a panic attack on live TV. A lifelong skeptic, Dan consulted a range of experts before trying meditation and writing a book about the experience. His podcast explores meditation with experts in the field and is well worth a listen, but we’d recommend you start with his great (free) seven-day introduction to meditating.

  • Daily Boost – the most popular daily motivation podcast out there. Host Scott Smith is funny, insightful and his tips on how to be less stressed, happier and more successful are applicable to everyday life.

  • Good Life Project – Jonathan Fields hosts this inspirational podcast exploring a variety of topics, often with a range of great guests, that will leave you feeling optimistic, energised and ready to lead a more meaningful life.

  • Happier with Gretchen Rubin – best-selling author and former lawyer puts her research, analytical skills and personal experience to excellent use in this wonderful podcast in which Gretchen and her funny TV-writer sister discuss happiness and good habits.

  • Meditation Oasis – whether you’re a seasoned meditator or altogether new to it, this podcast has something to offer. Married hosts Mary and Richard Maddux guide you through meditations with various themes. Make sure to check out their meditation on self-love!

  • Millenial – Megan Tan hosts this podcast (now sadly ended) about negotiating your twenties. She focuses on the transition from university to work, but she covers a range of topics that are sure to be relevant to you and taking care of yourself at this stage of life.

  • Mindful Kind – you’ve no doubt heard a lot about mindfulness, but maybe you’re not sure where to get started. Host Rachael Kable focuses on a different technique each week (so you’re sure to find one that works for you!) to help you lead a less stressful, more joyful life. This podcast will teach you to be calm and be well.

  • Optimal Living Daily – focussing on a different topic each week, host Justin Malik scours books and the internet to save you time and bring you the best self-help content to improve your life step-by-step.

  • The Overwhelmed Brain – a great podcast, especially for anyone who has experienced anxiety or depression or has an interest in mental health, this podcast aims to help you lead a less stressed life. Essential for any university student! (NB if you are feeling blue please contact your university counselling service if there is one or if you’ve felt depressed for 14 days or more please contact your GP. Getting help is the best way to love yourself!)

  • Tiny Leaps, Big Changes – the goal of host Gregg Clunis is to help you make small changes that will lead to big changes in the future so you can be your best self and live your best life.
